Polymer Fibers: Concretum® SUPERFIBER FT

Polymer fiber to increase frost and de-icing salt resistance.

Concretum® SUPERFIBER FT are polymer fibers for mortar and concrete. Their fine distribution in the concrete enhances frost and de-icing salt resistance, as well as fire resistance, and helps prevent early shrinkage cracks. The product is certified and approved as a fiber for mortar and concrete according to EN 14889-2.

Applications:

  • Ensuring frost and de-icing salt resistance as an alternative to air-entraining agents
  • Production of concrete or mortar with high fire resistance
  • Production of shotcrete with high fire resistance
  • Prevention of early shrinkage cracks

Properties:

Concretum® SUPERFIBER FT are short-cut fibers made of 100% polypropylene (HD).

The Concretum® SUPERFIBER FT create a fine structure of fibers. This structure increases frost and de-icing salt resistance, eliminating the need for artificial air entraining agents to achieve high frost and de-icing salt resistance. The fibers are dosed at 1.0 to 2.0 kg/m³.

In the event of fire, the Concretum® SUPERFIBER FT fibers melt, creating a connected capillary pore system through which water vapor pressures can be dissipated and reduced. The fibers are dosed at 2.0 kg/m³.

Advantages:

  • Increased frost and de-icing salt resistance
  • Enhanced fire resistance
  • Exposed fibers are flammable
  • Reduces early shrinkage cracks
  • Alkali-resistant
  • No corrosion
  • Easy surface troweling
