Airport pavements have to remain permanently available during operating times. Since reconstruction of these surfaces is therefore only possible at night, this places special demands on the concrete used, which must be fully hardened and able to withstand full loads again in the shortest possible time.

This is where Concretum® Q-FLASH 2/20 has a real impact: Q-FLASH 2/20 hardens much faster than traditional concrete and can withstand full loads again after just 1–2 hours – depending on the desired open time. Compared with other types of rapid-hardening concrete, Q-FLASH 2/20 still allows enough time to pour and process the concrete. Our rapid-hardening concrete is therefore the ideal solution wherever large infrastructure surfaces need to be reconstructed within the shortest possible time. Thanks to its special composition, Concretum® Q-FLASH 2/20 also outperforms the service life of conventional concrete – and is practically fully recyclable.

Q-Flash 2/20 can be produced, transported and worked like conventional concrete: it can be produced in a concrete batch plant, transported to the construction site and poured there by the construction company. Alternatively, it can also be mixed directly at the construction site using a mobile mixing truck and poured immediately. Concretum® Q-FLASH 2/20 was developed and optimised specially for processing and pouring with concrete pavers. Concrete surfaces of up to 1000 m2 can therefore be replaced in a single night stage. Support is something that our customers can rely on: we support concrete batch plants and construction companies in all stages of the process and work with them on making adaptations for location- and project-specific conditions.

Concretum® Q-FLASH 2/20 is particularly suitable for:

  • Repairing runways, landing strips, taxiways and aprons
  • Repairing infrastructure surfaces (e.g. motorways, bridge decks, sections between railways, roundabouts, bus stops, etc.)
  • Replacing solid railway basements in railway tunnels
  • Various tunnel construction parts
  • All types of parts that need to harden or dry out quickly
  • Precast concrete elements with short stripping times
