Hardbrücke exit ramp, Zurich

Q-FLASH 5/20 was used for the renovation project of the load-bearing structure of the Hardbrücke exit ramp at Escherwyssplatz in Zurich. 

The construction company Marti AG chose the fast-setting concrete from Concretum to minimize the construction time for this project. The Hardbrücke exit ramp is used by thousands of vehicles every day. It is therefore necessary to keep the closure times as short as possible. 

The Q-FLASH 5/20 rapid-hardening concrete achieves a compressive strength of 20 MPa just 5 hours after installation, which makes it possible, for example, to remove the formwork in record time and carry out all subsequent work on the same day. The concrete for this project was produced at the Ebirec concrete plant of Eberhard Bau AG in Rümlang. By adding retarders, the concrete remains workable for 2 hours. The concreting phase is exactly the same as for conventional concrete.

Concrete pouring began at 5:30 in the morning and a total of 26 m3 of concrete was poured. The formwork could already be removed at 9 o'clock in the morning. Thanks to the use of Concretum's fast-setting concrete, the renovation work can be completed in less than 10 days, keeping traffic disruptions to a minimum.
