Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT)

First pours in the USA for Concretum® Q-FLASH 2/20 high early strength concrete

Concretum’s first ever project in the USA took place at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT), North Carolina. Five concrete slabs, with a total of 120 m3 (160 cyd) were placed within two nights on one of the busiest taxi lanes at CLT.

Concretum® Q-FLASH 2/20 high early strength concrete was especially developed for time sensitive concrete pavement rehabilitation. The concrete allows the reopening of the taxiway or runway the next morning, just a few hours after its placement.

For this trial project, the concrete was produced in Hi-way Paving Inc.’s batching plant and was subsequently transported to the jobsite and placed, just like regular pavement concrete.

Concretum would like to thank Hi-way Paving Inc. and Charlotte Douglas International Airport for their trust and for the positive collaboration. We look forward to carrying on this collaboration for future projects at CLT.
