Successful paving of Q-FLASH 2/20 at Messeplatz in Basel

On November 24, 2024, the first stage of a project at Messeplatz in Basel was successfully completed: the installation of Q-FLASH 2/20 at the Messeplatz streetcar stop. The project was characterized by tight schedules, cold temperatures and complex logistical requirements.

Precise planning and smooth implementation

Concrete producer Karl Meyer+Spinnler delivered a total of 50 m³ of concrete, spread over seven truckloads. Despite the cool ambient temperature of only 5 °C, the concrete could be processed under optimum conditions. Concrete production began at 8:30 p.m., and paving started at 9:00 p.m. Impressively, the concrete was ready for traffic as early as 01:15. Thanks to this efficiency, the streetcar service was able to resume as planned at 04:00.
